Malacañang on Tuesday said President Rodrigo Duterte's order for Vice President Leni Robredo to stop attending Cabinet meetings was meant to discipline her.
“Hindi naman siguro napuno, dumating lang siguro na kailangan lang disiplinahin,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said.
He denied that Duterte's order was part of a plan to ease out Robredo.
“You may have your own opinion about certain things but in policy, it is important that we are united. However, if the Cabinet member has a personal issue, he may hold it privately. If he or she wants to retain Cabinet membership, he or she is expected to act in consensus with the others. Kung hindi naman, he or she is expected to resign,” Abella explained. [source]
