DOLE chief reminds employers: Give 13th month pay before Christmas

In an announcement, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said all employees ought to get thirteenth month pay, paying little mind to the way of their business, and regardless of the techniques by which their wages are paid, provided they worked for at least one month in a year.

The Department of Labor and Employment on Tuesday reminded employers  to pay their employees thirteenth month pay not later than December 24, Christmas Eve.

Employers neglecting to pay the thirteenth month benefit are liable to money claim cases.
