Was the wife of Superintendent Marvin Marcos, head of the Eastern Visayas’ Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-8), one of the financial beneficiaries of slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa and son Kerwin?
Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Sunday this was one of the pieces of information he has received, while investigating the Nov. 5 “raid” at the Baybay subprovincial jail where Mayor Espinosa and an inmate were killed.
He also said earlier reports had indicated Marcos’ aunt Lalaine Jimenea was also on the list of recipients of payoffs from the Espinosas.
On the other hand, he said he received information as well that Superintendent Marcos, whose CIDG-8 team gunned down Mayor Espinosa, was the one who received the campaign money for his wife.
Lacson said he is having the information verified.
These are reports or allegations na dapat i-validate,” he said. [source]
