The head of healthcare firm Philab, Tom Navasero, said Friday October 7 he supports President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs, as this promotes the health and wellness of Filipinos.
The fight against narcotics is a personal matter for Navasero. He told ANC’s “The Boss” that his brother died from misuse of drugs.
“I am glad that President Duterte won and he is doing great changes positively. This is the first time a President puts his life at stake to fight drug abuse,” Navasero said.
Philab is building a P2-billion facility in Clark, Pampanga that is envisioned to be a global hub for genetic business process outsourcing.
“Genomics as you know is the holy grail of medicine, what we need to do first is sequence every human and there are a lot of humans out there to be sequenced,” he said.
“So we’re building a factory and we hope the Philippines can be the genomic hub. And it that action, a BPO in our sense is like a factory of sequencing human genomes as effective and efficient as possible,” he added. [source]
