LTO To Issue 5-Year Driver’s License Starting On October 10, 2016
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will start to issue driver’s license with 5 years validity starting on October 10, 2016. This is to comply with the President’s promise to his countrymen, that he will try his best to reduce the processing time for business permits and licenses.
LTO Chief Edgar Galvante advised that there would be an additional fee of Php100.00 for every driver’s license.
Ito ay para sa lahat ng non-professional at professional license holders, kahit na may huli ka, aplikable pa rin sa kanila ang 5 year validity ng kanilang lisensiya. –LTO Chief Edgar Galvante.
The first batch of driver’s license to be released will be printed on paper while the remaining plastic cards are now reserved for overseas Filipino workers, due to some of foreign governments and employers that do not honor licenses printed on paper.
Driver’s license with 5-year validity will be available on October 10 in Quezon City while for the rest of Metro Manila will be on October 14, 2016. [source]
