Senator Leila de Lima blames no one else but President Rodrigo Duterte for her ouster from the chairmanship Senate Justice Committee.
De Lima, speaking to Senate reporters Monday (September), believes that she ticked off the President after witness Edgar Matobato gave her testimony before her panel last week.
Matobato, an alleged former Davao Death Squad (DDS) member, claimed that he carried out various kill orders for Duterte when the latter was still Davao City mayor.
“Digong” has yet to acknowledge Matobato’s accusations in ensuing public speeches.
Duterte, 71, chairs PDP-Laban which is currently the ruling party in the legislature.
[source]
